For years, national tournaments have occurred in many of the nation’s major metropolises, with the exception of Denver, CO. Most teams and players in the Colorado area are forced to travel out-of-state to face more competitive competition and to obtain college exposure. This significantly adds to the expense of the team and the players. However, this is about to change!
The Junior Sports Association (JSA) has now begun sanctioning its events in the Colorado Area. The Junior Sports Association sanctions events from Florida to California and has a network of highly competitive basketball organizations. Below is a breakdown of JSA’s coverage throughout the US.

Beginning in the summer of 2011, the Colorado Fever Athletic Association will be hosting two JSA sanctioned events. The first of those events will be the North vs. South Shootout that will be held on June 10-12, 2011. This tournament will feature teams from the Mountain Conference (pictured in blue above.) Teams from this conference will compete to qualify for the JSA Nationals, which will be held in Miami, FL on July 5-10, 2011 and will play against other top teams from the rest of the country.
The Colorado Fever Athletic Association will also host the Final Frenzy, which will be Colorado’s first and only NCAA Certified Event for both boys and girls. This tournament will occur on July 29-31, 2011 and will feature teams from across the country. What makes this event so special is that there are only a small number of NCAA Certified Events in the US compared to the number of other regular tournaments. Therefore, most top teams specifically look for these types of tournaments. The most popular way to find these tournaments is on the NCAA official website. The Final Frenzy held in Denver, CO will be one of those events listed on the NCAA website. Furthermore, this is the only way tournaments can attract Division I college coaches. JSA will be soliciting the attendance of many of the major Division I colleges.
